Berlin, July 11th, 2022 – The mobile financial platform Vivid today launched Vivid Shopper, its own online shopping service, directly in the app. Customers can not only shop securely in hundreds of online stores but also receive up to 25 per cent cashback on selected brands. When paying, the Vivid card details are automatically inserted, meaning that this sensitive data no longer has to be stored directly with external services or even with online stores. Vivid Shopper combines banking and hundreds of apps for online shopping in one app and is another step on the way to becoming a holistic super app.

Payment data and co. securely stored in the Vivid app
A growing number of consumers are turning to online shopping, with the pandemic only accelerating this trend. More and more online stores are vying for the attention of Germans on their smartphones with their own apps, while at the same time, online fraud is on the rise. According to a Bitkom study from this year, in which 1,000 online shoppers in Germany aged 16 and over were surveyed, one in eleven (9 per cent) had already stolen payment data after making a purchase.

With Vivid Shopper, shopping and payments are combined in one app, meaning only one app is needed. The more than 1,000 selected stores always use a secure connection - fraud attempts with phishing or the like are thus made impossible. Customers can automatically enter their payment data and address at the touch of a finger when paying. This means that sensitive data such as the card number does not have to be stored in an external app or even directly in the web store and remains secure in the Vivid app. Vivid customers can always request new card details in real-time without having to wait for a new physical card every time.

Cashback is directly available, and new payment methods are coming soon
"At Vivid, we’ve been trying to figure out how to make the online shopping experience easier. After all, all of us here are also avid online shoppers. With Vivid Shopper, shopping online will be easier, safer, and they will get the best deals," says Alexander Emeshev, Co-Founder of Vivid. "Vivid Shopper will become a fundamental part of Vivid, and soon Vivid customers can also look forward to more flexible payment methods for every budget, in addition to other exclusive partners with high cashback."

In addition, through Vivid Shopper, customers will receive at least 0.5 per cent cash back on every purchase - Prime customers will receive 1.5 per cent. From popular food delivery services and perfumery to the best-known clothing brands, Vivid Shopper customers will have the chance to receive up to 25 per cent cashback on select brands. This is credited directly at checkout, without months of waiting, blocked amounts or unrecognised purchases. With Vivid Shopper, customers are always guaranteed to receive their cashback.

Vivid Shopper is available from version 2.19 in the Vivid app on the app's home screen and in the "Rewards" tab. Available stores and brands can be selected via the respective categories or a simple search.
