Vivid launches features "Split the Bill" & "Money Request"

October 5, 2020

Berlin, October 5, 2020 – Vivid Money, the mobile financial platform for banking, saving and investing, now offers customers to pay their bill for them with the launch of their two new features that make it even easier to share bills with contacts and request money from friends: "Split the Bill" and "Money Request". This way, restaurant bills paid by card, but also bank transfers, such as a hotel stay, can be easily shared and split with contacts.

With "Split the Bill", Vivid customers can split a bill with their contacts in just a few steps within the app. They select the payment in the payment history, tap on "Split the Bill" and select the phone contacts to share the invoice with - regardless of whether they have a Vivid account or not. Customers can select individual amounts per contact or automatically split the invoice equally. The selected contacts receive a notification via SMS and can make the payment. Vivid customers can send the money to the recipient directly in their Vivid app. Contacts who are not yet Vivid customers can choose to open a Vivid account and benefit from a 20 Euro compensation to pay for their bill or transfer the money from an existing account. Invoices that are up to 20 euros in value will be covered by Vivid Money as a welcome bonus.

Via "Money Request" Vivid customers can request money from other Vivid users and phone contacts. To do so, they select for which purpose the money is requested and from which contacts they would like to receive what amount. Requested contacts who are also Vivid customers receive a push notification in the app and can make the payment there. Contacts who are not yet Vivid customers will receive a link via SMS and can also choose to open a Vivid account and benefit from a 20 Euro compensation to pay for their bill or transfer the money from an existing account. Invoices that are up to 20 euros in value will be covered by Vivid Money as a welcome bonus.

Users who have requested money from other contacts can manage the process in the app and see who has already transferred money or manually mark when the money has arrived. They also have the option to cancel the process.

In August, Vivid Money launched its latest feature Vivid Pay that enables users to send money even to people who do not have a Vivid account themselves, without having to enter long IBAN numbers. Whether it's spending money together on holidays, sharing the costs of a gift, or the last visit to a restaurant, Vivid customers only need the recipient's mobile phone number. A link is then generated in the Vivid app, which can be sent via Messengers such as WhatsApp, Facebook, or SMS.

This way, Vivid Money goes one step further to make everyone’s daily financial life easier and handle their finances in an efficient and convenient way.
